Christmas Kindness Days 6-10

What a busy week our Christmas Kindness Elves have had!!!!! We love spreading kindness and love, but what is even better is that some other classes have jumped on board too!!!!

Its always better to give rather than receive!!!

Christmas Kindness Day 10
Spread the Love. We love the Hyde Park Daycare at our school so we wanted to show them some love too!!!

Christmas Kindness Day 9

Warming Hearts. We had library today and we wanted Mrs. P.A to feel special. So we sang her our
5 Little Reindeer Poem and Snowman Soup.

Christmas Kindness Day 8

Giving Food. As a class we though it would be a good idea to collect food for Christmas Cheer. We collected over 100 items!!!!

Christmas Kindness Day 7

Share the Love. We sent this mini Christmas tree to one class with a special note for them to pass it on to a new class when they are through.

Christmas Kindness Day 3

Little things go a long way. Today we elves focused on those little things. Holding the door open for people. Saying "good morning" or "good afternoon" and giving compliments to our peers.

And dressing up silly to make others laugh, is one of those little things too!!!!!

Christmas Kindness Day 2

Black Friday? Is it really necessary?

As this weekend hits, everyone is thinking about material things. As everyone searches for "Deals" they end up buying more than they even intended to, or better yet, more than they need. Let us go back to the true meaning of Christmas and the importance of spending more time with your family.

As a teacher, I realize how important it is for kids to spend time with their family, not to make a HUGE list for all the gifts they want. Do Kindergartens really need their own IPAD's? I don't think so.

Check out this list for 24 things to do leading up to Christmas:

How to give TWICE

It is now coming to that time of year when we are thinking about Christmas gifts. What we often forget, is that there are many individuals who will never celebrate Christmas the way we do in the "Western World".

So why not make your gifts count? Why not make those gifts not only affect the person you are giving it to, but also the persons freedom that the gift represents.

There are so many causes that help those in need, so these are just a few.

Help me this Christmas by making a difference in others lives as well. Imagine receiving a gift knowing you gave a family food for a week? What better gift is there than that.

Let us teach our children about the importance of giving, because we CAN make a difference!

We wear a poppy to remember...

Thinking of all those brave men and women who fought and continue to fight for our freedom. What a blessed nation we are. Thinking of my grandpa and the amazing man of integrity he was, how little did I know then.....let us not forget.....

Writing in Kindergarten

As we are coming to that time of Student Led Conferences I thought this would be a perfect time for parents to check out this "Evolution of a Child's Writing" from SOS Therapy. Students need to build their hand strengthening skills in order to build their writing skills.
